Eating with the Master

Last Wednesday Amy, Aaron, and I went to dinner after working out. Located just a couple blocks from the gym, T'afia was our chosen dining destination which also boasted a Top Chef Masters viewing party. What made this particular soiree so scintillating was the presence of renowned Houston chef, restaurant owner, and Top Chef competitor Monica Pope. We wined and dined and cheered on MP as she vied for the title of Top Chef Master. She won the Quick Fire Challenge and the whole restaurant erupted into cheers. When she barely missed out on a spot in the finale, everyone booed in anger and disbelief. It was a very fun (and delicious) time!

I've got tetanus...

...toxoid coursing through my veins. This morning I received my DTP vaccine at Occupational Health in the Baylor Clinic. Many may dismiss this trivial task as unworthy of blog space, but when an event happens just once every ten years, I feel like it's fit for posting. For the especially curious folks out there, you'll be happy to know I was inoculated intramuscularly with the comprehensive booster (bonus pertussis component included). To celebrate, I spent the rest of the day studying and then went to Core Central (weights + some aerobics) at the gym... and maybe I'll dig into some ice cream when I get home from studying at Rice's library. As always, a blog is never complete without a picture, so here's the photographic proof of my bolstered immunity:

Puttin' on the Ritz

Last Thursday the Houston Symphony kicked off a weekend of Gershwin, and Brandi, Peter, and I were there to experience it. We toe-tapped and swayed along as John Pizzarelli sang and strummed on the jazz guitar. It was a nice, relaxing night off with good friends!

Korean BBQ

A couple Saturdays ago, Amy, Aaron, and I went to Chinatown for some late-night Korean BBQ. I have just two words: DE-LISH! Coupled with the good company, the super-tasty food brought a big smile to the face. What a great break from Randall's healthy choice frozen meals! :)
